In the current computed-UTF-if-hierarchy branch commit a3380cf0, there is a performance issue in compilation illustrated by the following command:

perf stat ../build16/bin/icgrep -PartitioningFactor=2 '\b(\w)\P{script=\1}' ../QA/testfiles/mixed_script

If the logic of pablo/passes.cpp is commented out, then the program compiles and runs in a reasonable time. Otherwise, it seems to take forever to compile.
